ABOUT

“Nothing splendid was ever created in cold blood. Heat is required to forge anything. Every great accomplishment is the story of a flaming heart.”

When people ask what we do, we offer a pretty simple answer: We solve problems. The tools we use may change from situation to situation, but the bottom line stays the same - we help clients solve problems in their organization and environment.

And isn’t that what you want - and what you should expect - from your communications counsel? It’s fine to write complex plans and produce eye-catching materials, but if those materials don’t help you overcome what’s blocking your progress or threatening your reputation, they’re just wasted money. And time. And energy.

Time-tested experience, expertise and energy you can trust to craft communications that solve problems and strengthen reputations – that’s the fire behind Forge Communications.

Designing Reputations | Building Value - Forge Communications

Our Background

Forge Communications was founded in late 2009 by Roger M. Friedensen, APR and Ray J. Hornak, APR, two veteran business consultants in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina. Both have spent more than 25 years honing their skills as strategic communication counselors for a range of public- and private-sector clients in dozens of industries with Epley Associates, Inc., one of the Southeast’s most successful public relations firms., and The Catevo Group, its successor.

It’s that history, deep experience and commitment to excellence that form the foundation of Forge Communications. The team of professionals we’ve assembled has built a national (and, in some cases, global) reputation for providing the highest level of research, communication, public relations and marketing services for an array of large and small companies, associations, educational institutions and government agencies in the Carolinas and around the world.

We know and are known by business, community and government leaders at the local, state and federal level. We have relationships that stretch over decades with media professionals who know they can count on us for timely, accurate and, above all, newsworthy information. Our reputation for performing first-rate work, building long-term client relationships and adhering to the highest ethical standards in our profession is unmatched. All of our senior consultants are accredited* by the Public Relations Society of America, and we adhere strictly to the PRSA Code of Professional Standards. Without fail.

Our Focus

Our goal isn’t to be the biggest firm, rack up the most industry awards or have the most Twitter followers. We’ll leave that to the guys who think that’s what makes a difference to clients today. Instead, we keep a laser-like focus on building long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with a limited number of leading organizations that can rely on us for extraordinary service, savvy counsel and meaningful, measurable results. Again and again.

* If you’re unfamiliar with the “APR” designation, it stands for “Accredited in Public Relations.” Earned from PRSA, APR is a mark of distinction among public relations professionals that demonstrates one's mastery of the public relations body of knowledge (its knowledge, history and the skills required) and a commitment to the strategic, executive and ethical practice of public relations). Only one in five practitioners (about 5,000 worldwide) have completed the rigorous process to achieve their accreditation.)Leadership.htmlLeadership.htmlLeadership.htmlhttp://www.rtp.orgClients.htmlTeam.htmlClients.htmlClients.htmlhttp://www.prsa.orghttp://www.prsa.org/AboutPRSA/Ethics/http://www.prsa.org/AboutPRSA/Ethics/shapeimage_2_link_0shapeimage_2_link_1shapeimage_2_link_2shapeimage_2_link_3shapeimage_2_link_4shapeimage_2_link_5shapeimage_2_link_6shapeimage_2_link_7shapeimage_2_link_8shapeimage_2_link_9shapeimage_2_link_10
